The varsity grapplers competed in the 16th annual Ohio State Duals Tournament this past Sunday, held at Wadsworth H.S. (Cleveland suburb) and came home with a 3rd place plaque! The team qualified for the State Duals as a result of the number of points scored in last year's District Tournament by the underclassmen. The top two teams from each of the four districts in the state competed Sunday. This was only the second time Elder qualified for the Tournament - the last time was 2008 and the team finished 4th.
Team finishes in order were: Wadsworth (ranked #10 in the nation & #1 in the state), St. Eds (ranked #4 in the nation and #2 in the state), Elder (ranked #5 in the state), Twinsburg, Mason, Mentor, Marysville, & Springboro.
Congratulations to the wrestlers and good luck this weekend at the All-Catholic Invitational at Cleveland State University!
