New Year Update on Team

If you are following the Varsity team we continue to make progress on our quest to be the #1 team in Cincy and for that matter SW Ohio. Our showing at Brecksville Tourney was the best by any Elder team to date. We placed (4) wrestlers in the top 8 and had (4) more that were wrestling in the final 12 but did not place (meaning 4 other wrestlers were one win away from placing in the top 8). We have shown that we want to be the best and have been working for that result.

With that said, our Varsity "B" team just came off an outstanding performance in the Norwood Inv. by placing 2nd as a team (this with only having 13 weights out of 14). We did this with 6 finalist and out of those 6, 3 were champs. This shows that the back ups for our varsity starters are also doing what they have to do to stay ready in case they get the call to wrestle at the next level.

As I have said previously I am extremely happy with our progress but the real grind of the season starts now (begining of Jan.). The month of Jan. can be tough and grinding for the kids so I want to be sure we keep our focus and stay the course. I apperciate all of our fans backing and hope that it continues through the end of the season. We have a chance to do something special with this group of kids so we willl see how it plays out.
